The music industry is having to keep pace with the ever changing technological developments, that are offering more and more ways to carry around complete album collections on one tiny portable music player, whilst battling against the Piracy Issues that the internet has brought so much to the fore, with copied albums and peer to peer file sharing networks.
Apple iPod is the industry leader in the portable music world and while many companies have worked hard on their various portable players, I cannot see the iPod really being challenged, not for a while at least. The brand has become synonymous for portable music and made it so easy to download and organize album collections using the excellent iTunes software.
All that said, I personally am old school and prefer the quality I get from the good old Audio CD. I have tried downloading MP3 files off the web but in many cases find the quality to be somewhat inferior to a good quality original CD. Some of the pirated CD's I have heard leave a lot to be desired.
The world is moving towards all music and movies being delivered digitally over the internet, this is all well and good for countries with good high speed connections, but what about the rest of us?
